Shouting into the Twitterverse

For a while now, Twitter has given you information on your tweet activity dashboard about your best-performing tweets – but the flow of this information has been one-way. Now that is changing, as the microblogging platform has introduced Quick Promote, a feature to allow your best tweets to be promoted to a wider audience with a single click.
The new capability was announced by Buster Benson, product manager for revenue, on the Twitter Small Business Blog in early February.
He wrote: “Promoting a tweet takes just a few clicks and your tweet will automatically be targeted to users who have interests similar to your followers – the audience that is most likely to be interested in your message.” Mr Benson added that Promoted Tweets help to yield “measurable business results” on activities like new product launches, special offers, or simply promoting your latest blog post.
Twitter’s own research shows a Promoted Tweet makes audience members nearly a third more likely to visit the relevant business after they see it.
With Quick Promote making it easier to promote tweets directly from your activity dashboard – effectively ‘shouting back’ at your engaged followers – it’s easier than ever to take advantage of this boost to your potential customer base.
